I feel like a lot of progress is happening now. My plan is to release three to four more Grimm stories through the end of the fall and into winter. Maybe one a month starting around Thanksgiving. Three of them have been written, so I believe the plan will work, although I’ll wait a bit before saying I love it when a plan comes together.
Still, three books finished. Storm of Souls undergoing edit. The as-yet-unnamed third book going to my first reader. With everything going so well I wanted to reveal the cover of the Crown of Bones. I’ve said it before, I love the artist doing my Grimm Covers, and he did a great job on this one.
The Grimm books (to me) have always been about Grimm and Jen. When I first set pen to paper (or digital pen to a word document), the first story was always going to be about Grimm and Jen. About a guy going home to save his high-school sweetheart.
But the stories continued. The saga grew. And Grimm and Jen became something more. They grew from high-school sweethearts to demon-killing avengers. They were bonded by a love a they would sacrifice anything to keep. And they always had this moment where each of them, halfway across the world from the other, could look up at a starry night and a full moon and feel they knew exactly what the other was thinking.
I love them in my stories. I don’t want to say they’re characters, because they feel real to me. I hope they are real in some other universe.
I was excited to get them both on the cover, and I wanted to share it with my readers. Hopefully in that alternate universe, Grimm and Jen get a chance to see themselves on it too.
