So, not quite an update a month. Almost not quite an update in two months. And I keep thinking I had the best of intentions…
Still, there’s great news to report. Crown of Bones has finished its final edit and I’m currently putting together the inside matter for it. Storm of Souls has a date for its final edit (late August). The ending of that particular trilogy, the mysterious as-yet-unnamed third book, is almost in the hands of its first reader. And my cover artist for the Grimm Series, J Caleb Design, just got back and said the first mockup of Storm of Souls is on its way. I love working with this guy, and I love his slogan. “Bad Ass Covers for Bad Ass Stories”. I can’t wait for the day I write an epic fantasy story for him to draw the cover for.
I’ve also started putting together a few items of swag for a Shopify store I’ve built. So there’ll be some cool things there, not just with the Grimm Universe, but from other stories I’ve written. It’s my goal to have a bunch of stuff available over time, as I think of the different items, and have artists design them, and then order it myself and test it out, etc… More news on this later this year, but the store and some pretty cool swag is on its way.
Finally, I’m on page 110 of writing a new series. It’s kind of an urban fantasy, based back in the 1550’s, about the lost colony of Roanoke. I started writing this story a decade ago, and I came back to finish it. Actually, I started writing a different (and still unpublished) urban fantasy a year, and in writing that story I understood I needed to give more of a backstory to one of the characters, and from that idea came this story. Excited to get this new series out.
As always, I promise to do more updates. Hopefully, if I do them more often they’ll be smaller and not cover so much in one go. Still, excited about all of it. Hope you are too.
